Steve Martin is right

Not much to say about this, except that I appreciate the thought.

On second thought, while there is no art about atheism per se, there is a vast corpus of secular work we can appreciate. Bach wrote a lot of abstract keyboard music I can listen to without feeling as though I'm being proselytized. There isn't much sacred about The Ring cycle or Tristan and Isolde, either. And Elliott Carter, as Schiff has said, belongs to no church and has never written religious music.
